Autism York sponsors a community awareness program entitled “Understanding Autism”. This service began in 2009 to provide the community much needed access to basic information about Autism. The goal of “Understanding Autism” is to provide accurate information, in order to increase understanding and promote acceptance of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Each presentation is tailored to fit the needs of the specific audience.
* There is no charge for Understanding Autism services. Donations to Autism York are welcome, but not necessary.

"Our fourth and fifth grade students attended a presentation called, "What is Autism" presented by a representative from Autism York. By increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders and its impact on those with it, the students now have a greater understanding and level of compassion for their classmates who are on the autism spectrum."
