The 2012 AUTISM EXPO AND WALK FOR AUTISM will be held
April 14, from 10:00am – 3:00pm at Central York High School.
This year’s event will be bigger and better than ever! This event is a
reflection of Autism York’s commitment to provide support, education
and awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorders in our community.

WALK FOR AUTISM
Our Walk for Autism is Autism York’s one major yearly fundraiser that enables us to continue to improve the lives of those living with autism in our local community.
Monies raised through this event make it possible for Autism York to continue supporting local families through monthly meetings, family social events, a Resource Guide and Lending Library, education and awareness opportunities, and our newly introduced “Buddy Project”.
The Walk will be held at Central York High School on the indoor track. Walkers may choose to walk ANYTIME from 10:00 – 3:00 the day of event. All money raised will help to support local families affected by autism spectrum disorders.
Trophies will be awarded to the top Fundraising Teams: 3 Organization Teams and 3 Friends & Family Teams.

AUTISM EXPO
The Autism Expo features an extensive vendor fair for autism specific vendors to exhibit their services. A multitude of information about autism is available for families, professionals and members of the community. The event allows families and individuals affected by autism to network and locate appropriate resources.
Free family fun activities are available throughout the day. Visit our face painters, caricature artists, balloon artists, and STAR WARS characters!
Families are welcome to drop off children in our extensive, supervised and secure, Children’s Play Area, so they may browse the Autism Expo at their leisure. Children will have a great time enjoying bounce houses, an obstacle course, crafts, movies, and more!
We encourage any agency providing autism specific services, or goods and services related to autism, to participate in this year’s Autism Expo as a vendor. Last year we welcomed over 2000 attendees to this combined event and were told by many vendors that this venue was the best they have ever participated in to reach new families and distribute their information!
TALENT SHOWCASE & ART SHOW
Our Talent Showcase & Art Show showcases the many talents of individuals on the Autism Spectrum! Artists, singers, musicians, and comedians are all welcome! Individuals on the Autism Spectrum of ALL AGES are encouraged to participate at whatever level they are comfortable. Talent and/or art submissions can include, but are not limited to – musical performances, dance, karate, gymnastics, drawings, paintings, sculptures, writings, demonstrations, or special interests.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
We need an abundance of volunteers to make this day a success. Volunteer opportunities include: Children’s Play Area, set-up, and clean-up. Numerous shifts are available throughout the day. All volunteers registered by April 1st will receive a t-shirt to keep and wear during the event. Individuals and groups are welcome!
