We chose the flat by how short the walk to school is

Our son is nine and autistic, and the thing that decided our move to Spain was not the flat at all, it was a route.

Villajoyosa, seven minutes on foot, one crossing, no main road, the same shops in the same order every morning. We walked it in February and again in June, at the actual time we would walk it, and he chose the side of the street he prefers. That side has a wall he likes to touch.

We looked at eleven places on https://alegria-realestate.com/ and rejected four beautiful ones because the walk would have crossed a busy avenue.

For parents here who have moved with a child on the spectrum: how long did the settling take, and what did you keep exactly the same from the old life? We are taking his bed frame, his lamp and his Saturday routine, and I would like to know if there is something obvious we have not thought of.
