Looking into paint protection film in Sacramento, what should I check first?
I am thinking about getting paint protection film on a newer car and I have never done this before. Not sure what matters most, coverage, warranty or the installer itself. Has anyone here gone through this recently and what did you look at?

I went through the same thing a while back and the main thing I learned is that the installer matters more than the brand of film. Two shops can use the same material and the result still looks different depending on how the panels are prepped and how the edges are wrapped. I would ask what coverage options they offer, full front versus partial, and whether they cut from templates or trim on the car. Warranty terms are worth reading closely too since yellowing and lifting are the usual complaints. If you want to compare, there are listings for ppf services for cars in the Sacramento area that describe zip coverage and process in fairly plain terms. Beyond that I would just get two or three quotes and see who explains things without vague talk. Prices vary a lot, so treat the cheapest number with some caution and look at what is actually included.
