Are subscription-based services becoming the smarter business model?

Lately I’ve noticed that more companies seem to be moving away from one-time purchases and focusing on subscriptions instead. Is this mainly about creating stable income for businesses, or does it actually provide better value and convenience for customers over time? I’d love to hear how others see this shift.

I think it’s a mix of both. Businesses benefit from predictable revenue, while customers often receive continuous updates, support, and new features instead of buying the same product again later. I recently came across https://thereaderstone.com/why-subscription-businesses-are-replacing-one-time-sales/ , which explains why subscription businesses are becoming more common, and it helped me understand the long-term thinking behind this approach. Of course, the real value still depends on whether the service keeps delivering meaningful benefits.
